Our newest humbucker set! We designed these in collaboration with Nick Greer of Greer amps, he wanted a bridge pickup with the dynamics and vintage character of our 1959 clones and ttops, but with a little more power and versatility. This is what we came up with! The Straight 8 uses an alncio 8 magnet in the bridge for a little extra power, while still keeping the sweetness of alncio. The neck pickup is a slightly hotter 1959 clone with an alnico 4 magnet to balance out the set.
The set comes standard in double black with our custom TTop bobbins for the cool factor, the bridge pickup has 2 rows of screw polepieces. Both pickups come with short leg baseplates and are wax potted to eliminate microphonics. They come standard with vintage braided wire, but can be made with 4 conductor on request (please use the order notes to specify 4 conductor). They are also offered in “Greer Spec” which comes with a cover on just the neck pickup in either nickel, chrome or gold.
